A roof basket that mounts to factory roof rails and adds usable load space without a trailer. Carries suitcases, camping gear, recovery boards and water containers — loads that never fit a roof box.

Full aluminium, not steel

Frame, crossbars and load-bearing panels are aluminium, so they do not rust the way steel panels do. That is what makes this an aluminum roof basket rather than a coated steel one: the surface cannot chip through to bare metal, and the weight stays low enough to leave on the vehicle between trips. High-toughness plastic corner caps absorb knocks at the four points that take the most abuse during loading.

Front wind fairing

A moulded fairing on the leading edge guides air over the load instead of into it, cutting wind noise and drag at motorway speed. On a roof basket without a fairing the front rail acts as a scoop, and the noise starts around 80 km/h.

Fits factory roof rails

This roof basket clamps onto standard factory rails. Vehicles with bare roof channels need an aftermarket crossbar set first — our roof rack crossbars fit the same rails. Reference: roof rack systems. As a basket for roof rack setups on SUVs, estates and 4x4s, it uses the rails the vehicle already has rather than needing a custom mount.

Load tested

This roof rack cargo basket is load tested with three adults standing on the assembled frame — panel spacing and joints hold under concentrated weight, not just evenly spread cargo. That is the difference between a basket rated for luggage and one rated for people: a light frame flexes at the centre joint the first time the load is uneven.

Six lengths cover the common rail spacings, so the same SUV roof basket fits a compact crossover and a full-size 4×4 without overhanging the windscreen. The 90 cm width suits narrow rails; the 100 cm width gives more floor for recovery boards laid flat.
